Jordskott. Thursday 12th March 2015.
So I spotted an ad for this series-which is “coming soon” so the TV advertisement says..
It is a nordic-noir mystery-hurray! Quoted from second link above:
“ITV encore has acquired Jordskott, the critically acclaimed Nordic mystery. The ten-part series ..premièred on SVT in February to critical and ratings success.”
“Jordskott is set deep in the ancient forests of Sweden. Seven years after the disappearance of her daughter Josefine, police investigator Eva Thörnblad is still trying to cope with the grief of her loss. Even though her daughter was said to have drowned, Eva knows in her heart that someone had taken her child on that fateful day by the Silverhöld lake.
“So when a young boy goes missing in the same forest of Silverhöld, Eva returns to delve into the dark mystery that haunts her. As she is drawn into the investigation she learns that there is a much deeper and darker force in operation but how far is she willing to go to protect the one she loves!”
Nb. So I will also be looking out for the remake of the Swedish original of Humans, coming soon to Channel Four in the UK The original name of which I will look up. Because so far-in the increasingly extended TV trailers for it: Humans is looking good.
Sense Eight-a new Netflix Series.
I was sent details of this by Netflix and saw the brief trailer. Looks interesting:
“Eight cities, eight people, one connection.. you have seven other selves now…”
Lots of fighting and generic action, not sure if it’s my cup of tea.
So I am really enjoying Wayward Pines (if that is the right word) on Fox Channel currently and the series Between-on Netflix. Both of them are so far I feel, proving to be excellent.
Oh yes and let’s not forget the incredible Gotham (now ended) and the unique and one-off original- Bates Motel. Brilliant. Pretty much. In my opinion.
Then there was the Italian series, 1992, Verily, I have been dwelling in the oasis of the televisual desert. Or an oasis. And the oasis has been stocked plentifully indeed.
