Note to my readers. Some new and returning series.
Gotham New series-Two
Returns to UK TV on Channel Five Monday, 16th March 2015 at 9pm
Series One written about here on this Blog. You gotta love Gotham. I do.
Nb. I see that the first episode of Series Two will be “feature length”.
Wallander Series One
(Yellowbird films) with Henrik Kristersson has been showing in the UK throughout February and early March on BBC 4 HD Channel.
Some episodes still available on BBC i-player.
I have written about the Wallander Series One here and about separate episodes of Series One and Two. Also Wallander Series Three. With episodes. There is also a review of Kenneth Branagh and Rolf Lassgård as Wallander.
The Bates Motes-Series Three.
Universal Channel number 137 on Virgin Media TV. Wednesday 1st April 2015 at 9pm.
Both series one and two written about here. Can The Bates Motel maintain it’s off beat excellence?
Nb.The colours in these stills do not do justice to the painterly richness of the scenes in The Bates Motel. The stills are a bare approximation in fact.
I Live With Models
New Comedy Series I found purely by chance: Comedy Central Channel 132 on Virgin Media TV.
Monday at 9:30 and repeated Tuesday nights at 10 pm.
I Live With Models is actually funny. Well I have only seen one episode.
(episode four of Series One-Pool Buddies) But I think so.
According to my subsequent research: this is a British comedy set in America: “in a slick beach-side apartment in Miami”.
Luther-BBC One (i think) date as yet unknown.
The series Luther is to return to the BBC with just two episodes at one hour long. So not quite a series really. Elsewhere I read that this Luther one-off will be produced by BBC America.
Les Revenants/ The Returned
Channel Canal+ France.
This series Two will be sometime “late 2015”. In the UK.
Les Revenants will be on Channel Four I believe, in the UK.
It looks like Hostages (what a stunning series) will be followed by a repeat of the Italian Series set in beautiful Sicily:Inspector Montalbano in the BBC4 foreign language/ subtitled drama Saturday nights slot.
Inspector Montalbano did really grow on me but it takes time to get into the zone.
See: ‘Excursion to Tindari” here on this Blog. The first ever episode I saw of Inspector M-or “Commissario!” as everybody calls him. I did get quite proficient I felt at saying this in time. Plus “Prego”…
Some interesting sounding series, Plus Top Of the Lake-Series Two-dates as yet unknown.
All information and direct quotes taken from article below in footnotes.
Spotless Canal + Channel, France. In English.
“Debuts in France in March (but is in the process of being bought by a UK broadcaster)”
I have read a preview of an interesting sounding series that will be produced by the French channel Canal Plus. The series is called Spotless and concerns two French brothers living in London who run their own cleaning business. They clean crime scenes. This set up reminds me of a film I saw called The Cleaner.
Nb. Top Of The Lake Series Two.
“Series Two of top Of The Lake is currently in production in New Zealand”
Battle Creek. U.S.A.
This sounds interesting-a detective series set in “small-town Michigan” …”With a pair of mismatched Cops”. (when is there any other) Battle Creek will be on the American channel CBS. It is created by the man who wrote Breaking Bad apparently.
Nb. According to Wikipedia-Battle Creek (which is the name of the town):
” Started in America on March 1st 2015
Some other upcoming series on the ITV channel in the UK: (dates unknown)
With Christopher Eccelston.
A couple are asked by a Policeman friend to turn their remote guest house into a safe house..
Code of a Killer
With John Sims and David Threfall.
The story of the world’s first DNA manhunt. With John Sims as Professor Alec Jeffries and David Threfall as the Detective.
Later update: There is a slight disparity of information on the première of this show as to dates: one preview I read said that the premier’ will be on Sunday 5th April at 9pm. However according to Virgin Media TV listings:
The Code of A Killer will be on Monday, 6th April @ 9pm on ITV Channel and ITV HD.
With Sheridan Smith.
The Trials Of Jimmy Rose.
With Ray Wintstone.

With Martin Clunes playing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1903.
